Blackstar by Bowie is a perfect soundtrack to a movie about his life.

A number of his 70's albums could be the basis for films - mainly thinking

Rise and Fall of Ziggy Startdust and the Spiders From Mars

Aladdin Sane

Diamond Dogs

Station To Station

Alice Cooper's concept album.

'Alice Cooper goes to Hell'

would make one wacky musical

Excellent songs, music & lyrics.

Keep safe while i'm out chasing rainbows.

100% agree on all. I'm amazed that no one's ever attempted 'Ziggy'.

All of Alice's work is visual. That's why he's lasted in the game for decades 😀.

I'm with you on 'Goes To Hell'. Beyond a musical, I'm thinking gritty drama. You can imagine the scenes for 'Didn't We Meet' (any episode of 'Lucifer') and 'Give The Kid A Break' (that's series 6 of 'Buffy' - or even a 1985 'Hill Street Blues').

'From The Inside' would definitely make a riveting film, but it's probably all been done in 'One Flew Over a Cuckoo's Nest'.

Queensryche's Operation Mindcrime would be ideal. As would The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway by Genesis and 2112 by Rush.

Wow. Not listened to 'Mindcrime' in decades. Good call with the other 2. '2112' is begging for a film adaptation.

I'd stick to the Musical idea & just love the line,

'i'm going home,

to my own room to all the mess

to all the dirty laundry.'

in the last song as Steven realises its all been a dream - or was  it?

Keep safe -

Genesis...Foxtrot.

David Lynch as director.  He'd have a ball with Supper's Ready!!!!

Another good call.   '.....And Then There were Three' could work equally well.

Aphrodite's Child's 666 could be pretty spectacular too.

Some of Meat Loaf's classic videos were epic, especially "I'd do anything for love (but I won't do that)", and I reckon they could turn the new Bat out of hell musical into a movie, meh, they did it for Abba, twice!

Bit out of my wheelhouse, musically speaking. Unfamiliar with it, but I'm sure you're right.
