Sheffield Left Out

Recommended Posts

after the budget ,the star headlines was that sheffield had been ignored again for grants, freeports and investment.  Is this suprising when we live in the socialist republic of south yorkshire, where everyone continues to vote labour or greens.just cos thier dads did,or because they think they must cos theyre from sheffield. With a large amount of brainwashed students and a large amount of immigrants who will always vote labour is it a suprise the tories wash thier hands of us

thats not really true ,as the lib/dems are very close to regaining sheffield, thats a fact, but i do understand that the torys only look after there own areas,so much for the even up promise.

Not sure the canal basin would lend itself to a freeport to be honest.

Leeds and Hartlepool got government agencies moved there  and they are hardly true blue territory.

The Star reported only a week or so back the city had money from central gov. to help redevelop Fargate

How much investment came our way when Blair and Blunkett were in charge of the country?

Is the solution to stop students, immigrants, people with dads and people from Sheffield from voting?

Stocksbridge and Goldthorpe are getting £20+ million each.

Surely that would be illegal interference with the process of an election? Its another example of our democracy becoming more like that of the USA.

People make the mistake of believing we live in a democracy; we live in a representative democracy.  The trouble is, those we vote in to represent us just go on to represent themselves or their own ideology, irrespective of what they told us they would do when soliciting our votes.  And those of you who still think Brexit was a democratic decision, it was decided by 17,410,742 votes out of an electorate of 46,501,241.  Ergo, 29,090,499 didn't vote to leave the EU!  That's democracy for you!

Excellent question (don't know the answer).

But I do know an awful lot of Labour constituencies got sweet FA from central government when Labour were in power. People say it's a bribe, but if your town is on that list, would you care?

My town is on the list. I would give it back, so it could help people/areas that are really deprived.
