Recommendations Needed For Pc

Recommended Posts

I have had an Acer all in one for several years and the USBs don't have power so I've had to add an external USB hub. Now the screen has decided to go on the blink and starts going black from the bottom.

I've decided to bite the bullet and buy a new PC so I was looking for recommendations as my head is spinning from visiting sites. I don't do heavy gaming but do host several Zoom meetings with up to 150 people present and I don't want to risk the screen going mid meeting.

I've looked at another All in one but the stuff I've read is that if space isn't an issue I'd be better off going for a desktop. Or rather under desk as I have a built in cubby hole for a tower.

Budget around £650

Screen size 24" or up

SSD

Ethernet connection

Integrated Microphone, Speakers & Webcam if possible

Front mounted USBs preferred

Short delivery time is pretty essential

It all looks very complicated, but if you're looking around, I would only go for an Intel i5 or i7, nothing less.

https://www.ebuyer.com/

Are two sites I've used before no issues.

Have you considered laptops?

I'm looking for help in deciding what to buy, thanks.

We have a laptop but I wanted something with a bigger screen, around 24" plus.

The big screen with the integrated webcam and microphone is the issue.

I can find some, but they are really expensive!
So much so that you wouldn't have enough left in your budget for a good specification PC.

Having a nosey on Ebuyer I came up with this combination;

Philips 27 inch monitor - £129.99

Canyon webcam - £39.98

Lenovo PC - £469.98

All comes out at £639.95 and can be delivered this week.

No worries.

If you wanted to cut the price down more, have a nosey at refurbished Dells on Amazon, like this one; https://www.amazon.co.uk/Optiplex-i7-2600-Windows-Desktop-Computer/dp/B07YST68J3/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=desktop%2Bpc&qid=1613571130&sr=8-3&th=1

To be honest I would give the Amazon one a miss as its fairy old hence the price. The i7 CPU (2011) on it is much slower than the more modern i5 CPU (2019) in the Lenovo one and has old DDR3 ram. I doubt it has USB 3 either.

If you are going for a new setup now then the more modern it is the better as it will be easier to upgrade in the future if necessary.

That is about ~£180 more than it's worth.....

There's an offer at Scan.co.uk:

https://www.scan.co.uk/products/scan-home-h5a-amd-ryzen-3-2200g-8gb-ddr4-120gb-ssd-1tb-win-10

and an option to add 24" screen at a reasonable price. However, it's multimedia claim is a bit false as there is no optical drive on this rig.

Medion All-in-One that matches your budget from Ebuyer:

Thanks for everyone's help and advice. I've taken on board what everyone has offered and somehow ended up with a Lenovo 23.8" AIO. I measured the physical dimensions of a 27" and, given my desk space, realised it would be too large.

Thanks again.
