Zoom, Do I Need Webcam And Mike?

i am attending a major online sheffield social care conference tomorrow, but don't have a camera or mike, i think there is both on my laptop, but KB doesn't work, tried to do a test just now, asking for camera, Zoom info isn't too clear

your laptop should have both, you may not need a mike but a camera is essential. i wss on webex last week and it found that my camera didn't work so had to get out of the meeting . you could install it on a smart phone. I have teams and webex on my iphone and smartphone jusy in case now.

An easier method so long as you have a Chrome type Browser (including Edge) is https://meet.jit.si/ I has the option of having end-to-end encryption but nothing streamed can be recorded. Obviously streaming of video is better than not but you do have chat window on the left and you can 'raise your hand'.

I was on a zoom meeting last evening and my camera was not working and neither was the microphone but I could still go ahead and listen to the spokesperson. I received a link to join the meeting and it loaded from there.
