stpetre   12 #1011 Posted March 13, 2016 ------------- Hi Fleetwood, My mum bought both off them items for the home or pack up but potted meat was our favourite. I once lived in digs in Pitsmoor on Hanover St, i paid full board not bad digs but the landlady offered to do my daily pack up each week, what i got fed up with was beef spread- beef spread- Beef spread not that i minded so but is all that they sold in shops. :hihi: Brian  Did you mean 'Andover Street' Brian ? brian1941 Â Â 11 #1012 Posted March 13, 2016 Did you mean 'Andover Street' Brian ? ------------- Yes Stpetre, Andover St opposit sign post but further up the rd, the digs where i lived. our back yard over looked Burngreave Rd. Wern't bad in the 60s then. Â ---------- Post added 13-03-2016 at 19:54 ---------- Â It a shame they didn't rebuild in Grimesthorpe, i said many many years ago if council had built on that land i'am sure lots of people would have gone back. I for one would have moved back and i had lots of good friends and Neighbours, That saying -- Where are they now -- Never see anyone now but still lots of good memories. brian1941 Â Â 11 #1016 Posted March 14, 2016 When i went over to Grimesthorpe not long ago i walked along Petre St, talk about litter and rubbish most of them units had broken glass outside the food stores and car fitters shops. All that took me down to Gower St and was just the same, but when i arrived in Gower St itself it was nice and clean and people sat around the gardens.
