PeterR   10 #631 Posted September 26, 2015 (edited) Hello, To PeterR and Bantycock Many Thanks. It was a trip down memory lane. It was a pleasure  Hi SaintsAll,  I Presume you are aware of ''Picture Sheffield'' ??  Here's a few pics of the area you covered in your photographs. My dad drove for Gillott's Bread, based on Lyons Street, for a short while in around 1952. I sometimes went on his round with him on Saturdays in his lovely Bedford van. I believe the building on pic s12940 was Gillotts and is also shown on your photo with the ''Alpha'' sign.  Not wanting to teach you how to 'suck eggs' , but after clicking on one of these, then click on 'Zoom image' for a bigger pic.:-  http://www.picturesheffield.com/frontend.php?keywords=Ref_No_increment;EQUALS;s14157&pos=1&action=zoom&id=16981  http://www.picturesheffield.com/frontend.php?keywords=Ref_No_increment;EQUALS;s12940&pos=1&action=zoom&id=15840  http://www.picturesheffield.com/frontend.php?keywords=Ref_No_increment;EQUALS;s18696&pos=1&action=zoom&id=21264  http://www.picturesheffield.com/frontend.php?keywords=Ref_No_increment;EQUALS;s26457&pos=1&action=zoom&id=28882  http://www.picturesheffield.com/frontend.php?keywords=Ref_No_increment;EQUALS;s26458&pos=1&action=zoom&id=28883  Regards, Peter Edited September 26, 2015 by PeterR
 Share this content via...
