can you remember the Barbers shop across from Sutherland baths

i use to call in for hair after swim.

But my main place was in Upwell St. :|

I Presume you are aware of ''Picture Sheffield'' ??

 

Here's a few pics of the area you covered in your photographs.

My dad drove for Gillott's Bread, based on Lyons Street, for a short while in around 1952. I sometimes went on his round with him on Saturdays in his lovely Bedford van. I believe the building on pic s12940 was Gillotts and is also shown on your photo with the ''Alpha'' sign.

 

Not wanting to teach you how to 'suck eggs' :), but after clicking on one of these, then click on 'Zoom image' for a bigger pic.:-

can anyone remember the name of the pet shop in the old Rag Market, Its driving me mad trying to think what it was. HELP.

The only pet shop name I can remember was Mace's but thought that was down stairs at the Norfolk Market Hall in Exchange Street.
