Does anyone know the history of the house built at the bottom of Long Lane, Roscoe Bank?

Not often you see three place names with celtic/brythonic /Welsh  origins.

Long lane- Long has its roots in "lôn" which just means  road.

Roscoe - has its roots in "rhos coed" which means "moor wood".

Rivelin- "rhyd felin" meaning ford (by the) mill.

Nearby are:

Malin Bridge (melin= mill)

Don = fast moving river

Racker Way (racker is a road leading down through the woods)

etc,

Built in 1760 according to the sale details here:

Glen Mount sale details

In the 1920s it had a large army surplus hut  for ramblers, known as Parry's Tea Rooms (closed by 1927). It was 81ft x 15ft x 8ft and nicely asbestos lined. There were also childrens' swings and a roundabout.

In 1939 Lawrence and Nellie Sanderson lived there with 42 children apparently (blacked out on the register) were these a group such as Boy Scouts, perhaps using the ex-army hut?

There’s also a nice detached house at the bottom of Onchan Rd and Roscoe Bank, which overlooks the Rivelin Valley which I think is called called Rivelin Villa which seems as though it might have some history to it.
