I guess three not really anything you can do to cater for drivers that might do that. But even sensible and proficient drivers can and will fall foul of wanting to go straight on but suddenly realising at the last second they are in the wrong lane. Sensible drivers would carry on around the roundabout, others will suddenly veer to their left and change lane, oblivious to the fact theres are cars already in that lane.

Road markings and layouts are not designed by folks who actually drive...or even live in the area. There are so many places where this is the case. Then, once they have made a pigs ear of so many, they are promoted.

Road markings etc are specified by the government.

been that way today ,queue from st james backing up past its waiting lane,making forward to norton into one lane ,causing huge queues,big queues from meadowhead going down to woodseats,backing up to nearly the garage,total madness,then to make things worse the dual carrage way towards bradway ,both ways inc norton,theyve decided to put up traffic lights in the middle,for road works.

I meant at Meadowhead not the Bradway garage where the road works are

been another crash ,outside the transport ground,dont know how many this year,but it must be double figures,there several probles 40mph on both sides leading to the juction next to the meadowhead roundabout.

just been up to meadowhead,traffic becoming very busy at the roundabout,plus as you go towards the shopping centre,big problems as there 2 lanes then a 3rd to go into the shopping centre,but with the recess turning point full this causes the rest to block lane 2,meaning traffic trying to go forward,being stuck until they can get into lane 1,very dangerous and could lead to accidents,but so busy at meadowhead,dont know what will happen when the football centre opens as well,plus add the normal extra covid free society.

Yup, even though I know the route Google Maps will direct you up to Meadowhead roundabout and a right turn from Bowshaw even though you can cut the thing off by going around Jordanthorpe/Batemoor. Completely forgot it got so busy once when I went that way and ended up regretting it.

 

Also, isn't this a Sheffield Discussion and not General?
