RobZoomSpin 0 #3 Posted November 20, 2020 Hi Pattricia, Spinning is a cardiovascular and strength-based training program that is performed on a specially designed stationary bike (sometimes referred to as a Spinner or indoor cycling bike) that allows the participants to replicate the real outdoor feel of the road and mountains by turning a resistance dial that increases the intensity of the ride. A Spinner bike is designed to allow riders to “stand” and replicates a road bike with its handlebars, weighted flywheel, adjustable saddle and bike computer that displays heart rate, cadence (pedal Stoke speed) distance, time lapsed, calories expended and in some advanced bikes how many watts of power are generated. Since it’s inception in the late 1980s, Spinning has grown to become one of the most universally popular and successful studio classes in the world and to this day most gyms have a Spinning studio as standard. I teach in commercial gyms too, but have recently converted to teaching online with people (largely friends and clients) who have their own bikes at home and are looking to stay fit from the comfort of their living room. I hope that answers your question. Thanks Patttricia, Rob
 Share this content via...
