This is sad to hear, now he was a Great Game show host we will miss, it was great to watch him with Morcombe and Wise, they didn't half give him some stick, all in good fun, just irreplaceable. pattricia 575 #6 Posted November 15, 2020 I liked his kind of humour and although he was a good singer , he took the joke well when Morcambe and Wise pulled his leg. I had noticed on a few programmes that he was on lately that he was talking very slowly and slurring his words. This may have been caused by Parkinson’s or some other illness that affects speech. Janus 28 #7 Posted November 15, 2020 I had not seen him lately on tv. I always thought he looked very good for his age. He had a another child when he was about 72, top bloke.
 Share this content via...

I’ve not seen any reports claiming he had Parkinson’s or any other illness. He was admitted to Hospital after a fall at home and passed away in his sleep. Maybe he was speaking slowly simply due to the fact he wasn’t far off 90?
 Share this content via...
