radio_peter #1 Posted October 21, 2020 (edited) A few weeks ago , I cooked some chick peas and then put the uneaten portion in a foil dish in my fridge( not freezer). In the morning , they were partially frozen and I took a photo which I cannot upload here (URL?) . Other items seemed cold but not frozen . I tried to repeat it but nothing similar happened. Can anyone explain? Edited October 21, 2020 by radio_peter
 Share this content via...
Ghozer #2 Posted October 21, 2020 Your fridge is probably just set ever so slightly too high, and the combination of the foil tray, the mass/size of them, and the moisture in them, caused them to freeze... and you know, hot water freezes faster! (known as the Mpemba effect)
 Share this content via...
radio_peter #3 Posted October 21, 2020 In that case , I will try and do it again. I did not know of the Mpemba effect and must look it up! I was expecting supernatural explanations.
 Share this content via...
radio_peter #4 Posted October 27, 2020 I have tried to repeat this but no joy. I have read up about Mpemba effect which doesn't seem to explain actual turning to ice . The fridge temperature was about 6 degrees.
 Share this content via...

I woke this morning having dreamt about Rachel Stevens. I had no need to google her as I knew there was such a person. However, that's where our experiences differed. I know exactly why I was dreaming about Rachel Stevens! 🙂
 Share this content via...
