Very few trains have been running directly to the airport this year and are not planned ever to do so again. Even if they did they would be a Trans Pennine 185s, 15 years old and built in Germany.  The other two companies have only ever gone to Piccadilly and as bungleboy69 the Northern pacers on the stopping route have long gone. The EMR 158s to Liverpool are regarded by passengers as being a good ride.  Work on improving the reliability of the Route(including Dore) will start in earnest in the spring.   The X57 bus stopped going to the airport last month.    Edited November 11, 2021 by Annie Bynnol
 Share this content via...
dutch   68 #74 Posted November 12, 2021 (edited) Taken x57 to the airport in its last days and train back to Sheffield. Was impressed by the female driver who drove that bus perfectly and efficient. I did mention it to her when arriving at the airport and she seemed to like driving this route very much.     Edited November 12, 2021 by dutch
 Share this content via...

It isn’t unusual for your boss to be located elsewhere
 Share this content via...
HeHasRisen   3,371 #79 Posted November 12, 2021 (edited) I would say its much less likely in the public sector, yes. Local authority enployees make up a huge chunk of the public sector for example, why would their boss be based in a different city? Anyway, we shall see if the potential outrage can be expressed once he answers your question. I did not even consider local government as so unlikely
 Share this content via...

FORE   12 #83 Posted January 1, 2022 Pity. I've used it a few times to get up the snake for walks.  Although it only served Derwent valley on Sundays, does that mean there will be no service for that area as well?
 Share this content via...

There will be no link from Sheffield to Glossop anymore. The Ladybower, Yorkshire Bridge and Derwent Valley will still be served by Hulleys bus 257 which sees an improved timetable from 10 January. Edited January 2, 2022 by Andy C
 Share this content via...
