Swan Dehumidifier Not Extracting Any Water

Recommended Posts

recently purchased a swan 10 l dehumidifier, hardly used and in vgc, it worked for a couple of weeks, though not huge amounts of water, the humidity metre was around 70-60 degrees and was directly in bathroom,

now it is not extracting water at all, not a drop, the humidity meter is averaging 50-45, the fan is on, very noisy, cold not hot warm air is being emitted, I have cleaned the filter, etc

reading about,

I did have it in the bathroom,  very wet, etc,

it was on an extension cable, but surely most will be,

Your setup doesn't sound ideal.   Do you not have a wall extractor or window to help expel the damp air?

(i think) there are 2 kinds of domestic dehumidifier.

one of them (them cheaper one, like we have), needs the ambient temperature over .. 18(?)°C

often, our house is close to / below this temperature - particularly in winter.

basically, the room needs to be warm for ours to work.
