Hi All,

                was wondering if anyone could could give me a ball park figure ( estate agent fees, legal fees , etc) on the cost of selling a property worth 170K would be ?

That depends on a lot of unknowns.

 

1. Is it a house (and- if it is- is it freehold or leasehold) or a flat; and is it registered at HM Land Registry?Conveyancing is likely to cost anything from about £600-700 min. for a freehold registered house up to well over £1000 if it's leasehold or a flat or unregistered (or several of these).

2. Are you linking the sale with a contemporaneous purchase? If so, the fee might be a little less.

3. Estate Agents' fees vary widely too. Some charge a % figure; some charge a flat fee.

 

Just be aware that the cheapest quotation is not always the most cost-effective.

You should be asking the estate agent what is the charge  for  finding a buyer  under sole agency  ( for say 6-8 weeks )  and  multiple agency basis .
