Read a few reports this morning that we're showing interest in Daniel Sturridge?

Not signing Sturridge, thank God.

According to piece, Blades now appear to be the front runners  in the race to sign Brewster, with a clause that Liverpool have a £40  million buy back option?

Only problem is that Brewster is reported to prefer a move to London, (Crystal Palace)?   The lad was born in Dagenham.

It's not win/win if he isn't the goalscorer you hope for, might lose money then. It's probably worth the gamble though, it won't hurt the finances too much at that price if doesn't work out. Obviously nice tidy profit if it does

Finally secured Brewster.

Wonder if Wilder will use him in some capacity against Arsenal on Sunday?

Depends if they signed him and it was processed before 12 noon - if not, they can't

Good bit of business for Liverpool - get good money for him without giving him game time, gets top flight experience with us, only costs them nett £20m if he does hit the heights, and a 15% sell-on clause as well if they don't buy him back.

That's probably left very little left over if Chris is to bring in a CB as cover for JOC's season long absence.  May have to cope with Jack Robinson and Jags (remember him?) ... and hope the other CB's don't get injured or sent off.....

This lad WILL score goals, plenty of them. Such a natural goalscorer, so confident and raw.

There's is a reason why 12 clubs have enquired about him.

You weren't so sure the other day about paying 20 odd million for him though. Plenty of times players have been in demand then flunked.  He might be the answer but until he's played a few premiership games you won't know. Worth the gamble though

Well if nothing else, it brings the Blades average striker age down a bit.

Here's hoping his pace & youthful exuberance also helps take the pressure off Sharp & McGoldrick a bit?

Its not the £20m price tag that annoyed me, but more the movement of the goalposts in order to drive up a bidding war. I have no doubts what so ever that this lad is a player and a half.

Fair enough. Some youngsters have to make a move like this to prove themselves anyway, the outlay isn't a huge issue for a premiership club so finances shouldn't be too much of a concern.

I hope he will, but we've a history of signing goalscorers who can't find the net for us, then we sell them on and they start scoring again.  Perhaps the penny will drop some day that the problem is not the strikers, it's getting the ball to them at the right time in the right areas that is the problem.

Well, now we've got Brewster we have 6 strikers, Brewster, Mousset and Burke with pace to burn, and 4 of the 6 being 6 footers.  We can't say we are short of size, or pace, or options now!  It's a matter of getting the right ball to them at the right time.

At the back, if we can't bring someone in to cover for JOC, we've still got Jack Robinson.  If Chris wants a left-footed 6-footer there, he knows that the taller Edna Stevens has filled in there successfully in the past, and Robinson can play left wing-back.  Another tall left-footed option (assuming he's over his injury problems) is  Kean Bryan.  Right-footed Centre-back options include Jags and Jack Rodwell of course, but that may upset the balance.  If those options don't appeal, Chris will have to see if their is anything left in the kitty!  I'm not ruling out swaps or sales as well....
