While we look back fondly at the crop of Monty, Jags, Tonge - that was a generation ago - and we've only brought the odd ones through since, so no matter how good we keep being told the young players are, they are unlikely to be the mainstay of the side going forward.

Surely if you factor in the money you'll lose in dropping from the Prem against a player like Lingards wages for a few months its a no brainer to push the boat out.

CW doesn't pick many young players, he also doesn't use subs much either

The present team will find the Championship a lot more physical and much much tougher to succeed and could be there for a few years

Home advantage with no crowds has hit us hard but that is no excuse, we might win the cup yet!

Only if he doesn't get the assurances he wants about moving forward, one of which is not selling the team off. I doubt he'll be going anywhere.

CW has given his thoughts, and many boardrooms will be very interested in his comments, and await developments.

 

I reckon IF Chris is still with us when the first "name" player goes AND he gets the whole of that money to get replacements in on decent wages...... he may stay.

My wife plays squash with the wife of the guy that deals with player registrations  at United. Apparently at least 9 players are leaving at the end of the season
