Baron99   779 #1 Posted August 29, 2020 (edited) What ever happened to poet, comedian & presenter, Mark Miwurdz, the alter ego of Sheffielder, Mark Hurst?  He was all over the place at one time in the late 1980's, early 1990's but there doesn't even appear to be a Wikipedia page? There are videos on YouTube though.   Edited August 30, 2020 by Baron99
 Share this content via...

horribleblob   212 #3 Posted August 30, 2020 I saw him perform live a few times in the 80s.  Last night (23:30), on BBC Radio 4 Extra, I listened to Episode 1, Series 4 of 'The Mary Whitehouse Experience', from October 1990, which included a spot by Mark Hurst [although the BBC Sounds website incorrectly credits the equally excellent Mark Thomas instead]. That's where I heard him & it got me thinking about what happened to him?
 Share this content via...
Pettytom   1 #5 Posted August 30, 2020 I used to travel a lot between Leeds and Sheffield in the 1980s. It seems as if Mark was on every train that I caught😀  I chatted with him regularly. Lovely man.  I think he’s called Mark Hurst these days.
 Share this content via...

Baron99   779 #8 Posted August 30, 2020 Thanks for the email Horribleblob. Tried to reply but with the bounce back message I've just received, I don't think my reply has got through to you.
 Share this content via...
gluedtopc   10 #9 Posted August 31, 2020 I went to see John Otway and Wild Willy Barret in the Penguin either late 70s or early Eighties. There was a poet on as well with that name of Mark Miywurds. Guess it was the same guy. Happy days !!
 Share this content via...
