Where To Dispose Of Old Paint?

Recommended Posts

Is there anywhere you can get rid of old paint that isn't even worth passing onto charities for work?

Still liquid, but no good...

I took some to Shirecliff tip the other week and was told to just put it in general waste, which surprised me a bit.

I took some paint and other stuff which is usually put separate for recycling but was told to put them all in the general waste skip.

It will probably all get burnt in the incinerator like most general waste so not much of a problem.

Went to the tip - "just throw it in with the general waste".

God know what it is doing to the groundwater...

Nice to know our Vile-ola money is being used well.

Why as it will just get burnt as that's what the incinerator does to most general waste.

Where does it say that on their website?

https://www.veolia.co.uk/sheffield/hwrc-what-happens-waste

And isn't that even worse? All those pollutant and carcinogens going up the chimney???

And what about the fly ash left behind - what do they do with that?
