Anyone Know South Yorks Comedian Who Died In Early 80s?

Does anyone remember a slightly wild comedian who I seem to remember came from Cawthorne nr Barnsley? Sure he died either very late 70s or eatly 80s. Name might have been Ronnie something?

Wasn't there a club comedian called Ronnie Dukes wh died around that era?

I remember Ronnie Dukes used to do a male/female act called Dukes & Lee, despite being a bit rotund he used to do somersaults etc on the stage,

You're talking about Ronnie Dukes, he and his wife Lee were big on the club circuit when it had some gravitas. Never a Club person myself my understanding is that the scene is long gone. Greaseborough club was meant to be a good example of a thriving club

Ricki Lee played Ted's wife in Hi-di-Hi.

Ronnie Dukes lived in Cawthorne, he moved there from Brinsworth in the '70s.
