Sentiment; judgement influenced by feeling rather than any policies or promises will sway the way the constituents vote. Very few Labour leaders had the leftwing policies that Corbyn had and some even openenly talking about being Maxists. Corbyn lost 2 election so he had to go. Johnson is scrapping the fixed term parliament act, so we could see a general election in 2022 or 2023. Once a GE has been called Starmer will be more vocal and we will see if he is popular. That will give Starmer more than adequate time to formulate any non socialist policies that will enable him to be in with a chance of being PM.
