Did he really say the whole of the US involvement in Afghanistan was Trump's fault or just the leaving bit? You might want to check out the deal Trump negotiated with the Taliban which locked the US into leaving Afghanistan this year. Biden's handling of it may have made the end bit worse but the conditions around it (strengthening the Taliban's position by removing 8000+ US troups before the last US election, releasing 5000 Taliban fighters, etc.) were set by Trump in a way that Biden couldn't significantly change. And if he is not far left then who would you place as the more left beyond him. Im genuinely interested as to who you think was more left, right or whatever of JC so we have a comparative figure
 Share this content via...

alchresearch 214 #1486 Posted August 17, 2021 He's happy to be part of this group. Maybe its time Labour split. The left side of the party are never going to be happy with Starmer & a "New Labour" approach, and vice versa.
 Share this content via...
Flanker7 20 #1487 Posted August 17, 2021 (edited) Many people don't get beyond - I don't like him from the way the media portray him or I don't like the company he keeps. It would help if political position could be guided by the individuals stance on a number of 'tell tale' policies eg....... 1. The NHS 2. State/Public Schools. 3. The Monarchy 4. The Unions 5. Income Tax 6. Capital punishment 7. Fox Hunting 8. The House of Lords I realise any one of these does not give a fail safe guide to a persons Political orientation but taken as a whole you get a fairly accurate picture. Some are dead givaways but others are a reflection of core beliefs. For example if you know where someone stands on Fox Hunting you have a pretty good idea where they're coming from. Or take one of these tests on behalf of someone you feel you know well. A dangerous undertaking but may give guidance. https://10groups.github.io/ https://psycatgames.com/quiz/political-compass-quiz-what-s-my-political-ideology/ I would guess Corbyn is as soft as butter on 'The Law' which goes against many authoritanian far left regimes.
