The Labour Party - Part 2

Recommended Posts

Labour says that it has to listen to what the voters have said.

What, it's realised that only now? Did it not think to do so during its c.100yrs history?

Sorry, @Jeffrey Shaw, but ALL political parties, national/local organisations, say that, or 'we must learn from this disaster/error' - and then just carry on as before. I now cringe whenever I hear that phrase.

So Angela Rayner has not so much fallen on her sword as been pushed on to it by Starmer:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-57037839.amp

Sacked as Party Chair & Campaign Coordinator.  Surely a proper leader should stand up & take responsibility for failure?   According to the story, Ms Rayner is also expected to be 'offered' another shadow Cabinet role in a re-shuffle.  I hear that Ulster is nice this time of year.

John McDonnell, makes a point with his damming quote, that it's a "Cowardly avoidance of responsibility."

According to the BBC this morning, Starmer is looking for an advisor to take them forward on election strategy.  I hear a Mr D Cummings is looking for work.

Did Johnson take responsibility when he ordered an inquiry into Priti Patel's bullying of colleagues?

An expert he commissioned found that she did break the Ministerial Code, and therefore should resign.

Instead Johnson took a "Cowardly avoidance of responsibility", and ignored the report.

At least Starmer is trying to do the right thing.

Not that Johnson could sack anyone for breaking the Ministerial Code - where would that leave Johnson?

it used too, all parties used too, though the voters used to talk to the parties too.

strange really when you consider how much easier it is to communicate these days

Of course Boris Johnson took responsibility by allowing her to keep her job.  Unlike Starmer Boris is a winner and doesn't have to look for scapegoats after election results.

That’ll be a first.

Hahahahahaha.

Your material is improving, after your post Brexit hiatus.

The bully also known as Pritti Vacant is about to be hung out to dry by the EU and the UN.

Johnson just didn’t have the balls to sack her.

Interesting - I didn't think either of those organisations had any authority over internal UK policy.

A quick Google found this about Ms Patel's immigration policies, doesn't make for good reading IMO.

They don’t.

But the EU, in particular, has authority over its own policies.

That’s independence for you.
