being that implementing most of them requires the party to be in government then it seems a little unfair to say they have been broken before the party wins an election.

as much as is possible, given current circumstances.

 

the labour party wasn't particularly unified under Blair but everyone at the time shared the same vision that a labour government was better than that of an another party and certain compromises were necessary in order to achieve that.

 

the current membership need to come to the same realisation,  sooner rather than later.

Seriously  what has Starmer done to unite the party?  he  has deliberately gone out of his way to  antagonise the socialists within the party, withdrawing the whip from Corbyn against the NEC's wishes was a deliberate act of provocation, to say he has united the party is laughable

As an Englishman, I am not in the slightest interested in the SNP and I would never ever vote for the Lib Dems, the party which decided to ignore the referendum because they didn't want to leave Europe.

 

I didn't say that Starmer had done nothing and had not been in the news -  I said that he refused to say what his  policies were.

 

Why should I want to argue about the Lib Dems or the SNP?

Following the 2019 General Election the Labour Party entered a new cycle of policy development. We want to hear your insight and ideas on how we can re-shape our policy platform to win the next General Election and ensure a fairer Britain for all.

 

Policy is developed through the National Policy Forum (NPF). This is a body of over 200 representatives from all the major groups of the Labour Party, from constituency parties and regions to affiliated trade unions, socialist societies, MPs and councillors.  Its role is to shape the Party’s policy agenda, drawing up policy documents for agreement.

 

Does that answer your question, the policies change from election to election. That is similar for all the partys, but you can keep being fed negativity from the media. The answer was a quick Google.

No, that does not answer my question because I didn't ask how policies were decided.

All this says is how policy is decided.

I am saying that it's time he told us what those policies are (assuming they have now been decided).

What are they going to do about climate change, replacing housing stock, creating employment, trade, Europe, Northern Ireland, world affairs,

Who, with any sense,  wants to support a party if they don't know what that party intends to do.

He's sitting on the fence exactly the same as they did during Brexit and they finally voted for a Boris deal worse than the one they had refused to vote for when Theresa May asked them.

If you want to support Starmer then that's up to you but there are many of the old Labour voters like me who don't trust him as we should not have trusted secret Tory Tony Blair.

Further to that, the only policy that I have heard Starmer promise, is that, if he were elected, he would give the nurses their pay rise.

A good policy in my view, which I agree with.

 

Apart from that, I have no idea what he's going to do about anything, including all those pressing problems which I have stated and that alone, is not cause to give my backing to him.

As I understand, its members like yourself that set the policies. They dont set policies when an election is years away, things may change.

It would be pointless to have a policy in 2021 to increase corporation tax, when the Toris have promised to raise it. Dont you agree?

They won't have decided the policies yet. If they were announced now they would look stale by the next election  so they won't be.  

 

If you are so concerned then why not get involved in the policy development process that way you would get at least some idea of where things are going.
