Comedy At The Arena - August 22nd!

Recommended Posts

As lockdown eases, yet getting together still seems so hard, Sheffield’s iconic Last Laugh Comedy Club is getting back to work doing what it does best: making people laugh.

Whilst indoor concerts are still taboo, the team behind the longest running comedy club in the north are taking to the car park of the Fly DSA Arena to bring a star studded night of stand up comedy to laughter starved South Yorkshire folk. Last Laugh supremo Toby Foster says “We’re an emergency service. Sheffield needs to laugh again, so I spoke to Sheffield City Trust, mates at The Arena and the police and the council. They have all been incredibly supportive, so we are on for fun and games”.

August 22nd will see a full line up of stand up comedy in the car park of the Arena held together by Sheffield favourite Nina Gilligan. She will host Junior Simpson, BGT’s Steve Royle and comedy superstar Justin Moorhouse from Phoenix Nights. Foster explains “We’ll be sat outside, socially distanced in our bubbles. We’ll be ordering our drinks and snacks in advance and spraying the loos down after every little wee. We’ll be so COVID safe, and just enjoying the fact that we are out!

” Further details can be seen on The Last Laugh Comedy Club’s Facebook page and website.

As Toby says, “ We always knew that we would play The Arena, we just didn’t think that it would be the car park!”.
