Nor should it - unless one expects everybody posting on SF to have a  liberal/left mindset?

Where were you privately educated? I’m guessing not Eton, maybe Birkdale?

These four that have been let off are your typical white middle class students who I'll bet have little or nothing to do with black people in their day to day lives outside the college/university bubble.

And of course, you have proof of this assertion that you're going to share with us.

I fail to see the relevance, but I must say they're wearing nice outfits, very similar to the Chubby Brown protestors that made fools of themselves in the city centre a couple of months back.

Why did they make fools of themselves?

The people of Bristol still profit from Mr. Colston's funding.

If the population sincerely want to detach themselves from Mr. Colston get rid of the institutions he funded.

I find it strange when it is said the residents voted to have the statue removed and it was not. The only conclusion was that the poll was not representative of the population or the council decided the good he had done for Bristol overrode present views on historical events.

A confusing situation all round including defendants being found not guilty of a crime that was witnessed and evidenced.

That's not the only conclusion. Mayor Marvin Rees is on record as saying he didn't want to make it a big issue because he didn't want to lose 'political capital' over the issue. I'm not entirely sure what he meant by that, but I'm guessing he didn't want to **** certain people off so much that it would get in the way of other things he wanted to achieve. He has however said he is glad the statue is gone.

Are we here to discuss the subject at hand, or to inquire into other posters' personal lives?
