I see the PM has one set of rules for himself and another for us plebeians.

 

 

"Boris Johnson has been criticised for travelling seven miles from Downing Street to go cycling during lockdown. "

 

Mr Hancock said: "It is ok to go if you went for a long walk and ended up seven miles from home, that is OK, but you should stay local.

 

So the 2 people from Derbyshire who were fined for traveling 5 miles were breaking the law, but MrBoShambles wasn't? - hypocrite!

Those criticising Boris Johnson are being petty because there is an issue of security for the Prime Minister meaning there are other considerations  for his security team to take into consideration when allowing him  to do outside exercise  that the general public don't have.

 

 

 

 

They were walking together, which they are allowed to do. It was overreach by Derbyshire constabulary and the fines have been reviewed.

 

Downing Street (10 and 11) have a garden at half an acre. Boris Johnson should be setting a better example rather doing whatever he wants.

Anyone who says that he is justified traveling 7 miles to cycle round the Olympic Park is not being realistic - these are safer venues closer to No 10 for him to have his little jolly.

 

No, he is just taking the mickey yet again.

Sadly, I am now feeling that I wish all to follow advice and so have restricted myself to 'local' travel.

Out of curiosity, have you seen lots of people? I could go to rother valley country park and be well within guidelines but, judging by the parking it would really really busy so I don't go. I could travel further and find somewhere scenic that is much less busy. Which is better or worse?

Obviously what would be better if the government gave a big stack of money to Compass (Tory donors, former CEO I believe was a spad for cameron) to charge the public purse £30 A head to provide £5 of food.

It is awful that people who would quite happily jump on poor families for making wrong choices in their shopping , are at best ambivalent about taxpayers money going to a Tory donor for providing a food box to hungry children that is worth much less than the Government paid for it. Presumably because people feel happy punching downwards on a single mother, than punching upwards at a wealthy person.

The pictures on twitter and facebook of the food boxes which children are expected to eat are just pathetic: A couple of over ripe bananas, a couple of spuds, loaf of bread, tin of beans & maybe a couple of apples.

 

Shocking.

Why can't we give the money to parents so they can make choices at the supermarket? They know their children best, what they like, dislike in terms of food.

Also compare the Tory attitude to individual recipients of welfare (fat, stupid, not to be trusted, spend it all on drugs) and corporate recipients of welfare. The abuse by employers of the furlough scheme was way higher than the abuse of personal benefits, yet we don't hear the Tories demonising the businesses.

Each and every time someone mentions outsourcing, privatization, PFI, internal markets and the need to involve private expertize to "fix" wasteful government they should be shown that picture.

Quite so.

How is the food in that photo adequate enough to feed a child its dinners for 10 days? And in no way do the scraps of food given cost £30.

Interesting that the parent group is called 'Compass'. Certainly not short for compassion!

Nice to see that those who usually defend this Government have been chastened in to silence, and I'm not surprised.
