The Conservative Party - Part Two.

You are too prejudice against Boris and the Tory party to make balanced judgements on the performance of any Tory Ministers. You can't say Boris isn't loyal when he didn't sack Cummings earlier in the year and hasn't sacked Pritti Patel today. Boris also gives jobs to those in the past who have been disloyal to him such as Michael Gove. It's a sign of good leadership not to be influenced into making decisions due to media and political opponents hysteria.

The is no need to bring Boris Johnson's private life into the discussion.

A fine line in my opinion. A winner is happy to enjoy the rewards of being pushed hard.

It's not me that wrote the report though!

It is the ex head of the Joint Intelligence Committe who knows the Ministerial Code like the back of his hand. He took all the evidence he needed.

He concluded that Priti Patel broke that code.

I think that she is the first minister of this country to have broke that code, yet still kept her job.

There is every need to bring his private life into the discussion.

No long term rewards for being lickcheese,

Discussing the private life of Boris should be left to washer women.

Boris has rejected the findings of the report which is his prerogative.  Pritti Patel has graciously apologised if she unintentionally upset anyone. She went on to say her department does very challenging work which can make the difference between life and death. In my opinion anyone easily upset shouldn't really be working in the department that Pritti Patel is head of.

Well we can agree on that. Trouble is you'd be hard pressed to find anyone willing to work under such a toxic and unpleasant woman. She can behave as she wishes because the incompetent Boris Johnson is too weak to sack her.

All of this will come back to haunt them.

Yes there is. When Princess Nutnut is dictating the policies of the UK when she is an unelected unaccountable influencer of the PM, then she must be brought into the discussion.

She is as bad as he - she is a cheat and a liar in the same way that he is. Would any man or woman who had any sort of an ethical framework have an affair with someone whose partner or spouse was undergoing treatment for cancer?

What this shows is a complete disregard for any level of trust, humanity or morals. - Carrie and Boris to a T.

And you defend them?

Justify yourself please.

Pritti Pathetic has been found to be a bully.

Boris is supporting a bully.

Note that Pritti Pathetic didn't 'graciously apologised' if she intentionally upset anyone - which it can be inferred she did.

She is as much of a liar and a cheat as the puppet she responds to.

And in my opinion anyone who defends her (or him) is exhibiting as much moral backbone as those who defend Trump.

You can't say Boris isn't loyal ...

Just re-read this and loved your hypocrisy.

... Boris, the man who doesn't know how many children he has..., who betrayed his wife and mother of (some of) his children when she had cancer to shack up with someone who now dictates who is advising government and who doesn't, despite being unmarried (to the PM), unelected and unaccountable - and you say he isn't loyal????????????????????????????????????

He is about as loyal as a duck in a duckpond to whomever is throwing the bread.

Hypocrite!

Her name is Priti Patel.   You're embarrassing yourself  and acting like a silly schoolboy by changing her name.

Priti Patel believed the department which she was the head of wasn't being run properly. At the end of the day it's her head for the chop if the Home Office isn't performing as it should. Sometimes workers need a good rollicking in order to get them to pull their socks up and to their job properly. In the private sector there isn't as much mollycoddling going on as in the public sector meaning the workers are less likely to act like snowflakes when the boss has reason to criticise their work.

You should write a book about management theory.

Anyone who condones bullying is as culpable as the bullies themselves. Patel has loads of form for bullying and for breaking the ministerial code. She’s got no place at the head of a great office of state.

Which can also be seen as a form of bullying

So according to the article below Boris tried to get the author of the report to tone the report down, now why would he do that unless he knew the report was correct?

Boris Johnson 'tried and failed to get investigator to water down' Patel bullying report - Mirror Online

"Downing Street did not deny suggestions that Mr Johnson had tried and failed to convince Sir Alex Allan to tone down his conclusion that Patel's behaviour amounted to bullying as he found instances of shouting and swearing."

Boris was not going to get rid of her, he has a cabinet of yes men/women and can't afford to lose any of them with some dissention in his party's ranks.

What utter nonsense.  Any boss has to motivate or pressure the people they lead in order to get the best results. Our Armed Forces would be weak in they didn't have tough leadership throughout the ranks. Those wimps working in Government departments in Whitehall should be thankful they have it so cushy and are not in the army.

A good point.  Priti Patel was advised to use her husband's surname before she became a MP to help further her political career.  At the very least it's bad manners to change the surname  Priti Patel chooses to use.

So you've gone from justifying Patel shouting, swearing and humiliating her civil servants who she knows cannot answer back in a way that's worthy of the contempt in which she treats others, to becoming observant around the delicacies of other forum members changing Patel's surname. All in the space of a few posts....

I can't be the only one here to see that  your analysis lacks any basic credibility or consistency.

It almost makes you wonder why he bothered to try to water down the report, if he's going to ignore its conclusions anyway.

Most likely because he knows just how damaging the report is, and how it reveals his contempt for the truth.

Neither he or Patel are coming out of this well. Deservedly so.

She won’t get sacked, it was unintentional.

Although if memory serves the government paid out £25k after an aid took her bullying to an employment tribunal in 2017, you’d have thought she’d have known what bullying is. The fact numerous tories are falling over themselves to defend her after breaking the ministerial code is horrible but not unsurprising. Said code of standards also is quite implicit on making sure we don’t break international laws and treaties and Johnson is quite happy to shove that in the bin.

I think Patel has anger issues. Even in interviews on TV she can come across as brittle. Though I bet she's careful not to rile those who she knows will answer back & tell her what a **** she's being.

As you say claims of bullying have followed her from DWP, International Development and now the Home Office. She knows what she is doing is vile.

Having someone as weak as Johnson as her boss will be her undoing, if she continues with her nastiness.

I will say in her favour though that others who've worked with her said in recent months there has been an improvement in her behaviour. I've no idea if that's sincere, or even permanent. Hope for the sake of people working round her that  it is.
