The Conservative Party - Part Two.

This is inaccurate.  The money set aside by Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and JP Morgan is for PAY and Bonuses and they employ thousands of people

The $30m set aside by UBS is a week’s salary for each of their employees which, by corporate standards, is modest.

All this is clear in the story you are quoting from.

So you're saying the bank fat cats won't be getting their big bonuses this year?

That's good to hear...  If only it were true.

No.  Just that you haven’t repeated the story that you read accurately.

So they will be getting big bonuses yet again. Not bad for a group of Bankers who managed to wreck the world's economy, and from which we still haven't recovered.  Maybe they should think about donating those bonuses to the people whose lives they wrecked. It's not as though they aren't extraordinarilly well renumerated with grossly inflated salaries.

Why bother with the question mark. Passive aggressive or what.

I must have read hundreds of Anna's posts (or more!) , I don't always agree with her but I don't see any justification for that slur.

I often find that base insults say more about the giver than the target. It makes more sense to a capitalist than to a socialist in any event.

You must have noticed the frequent inaccuracies then.

Then call her inaccurate and for good measure, prove it.

There is no excuse for your insult above. My reply still stands

I want a fairer more equitable world for all, which has nothing to do with that nasty little phrase 'politics of envy.

I don't want to be party to a world in which children go hungry, where people die for want of cheap reliable medicine because some giant pharma corporation has decided to hike up their profits, where people risk life and limb to get away from poverty and destitution in little rubber boats, and so on.

Most of the ills and evils of this world can be traced back to basic inequality. There are enough resources for everyone to have enough to live  good useful lives, but the distribution is all wrong.

Surely it is the parents responsibility primarily to feed their children, and not the government?

Don't have more children than you can afford for the sake of obtaining a small few extra benefits 😞

And anyway the central Conservative government in London has already devolved significant amounts of money to the regional councils precisely to help with this situation for the very most needy 😕

I believe this to be the story you read.

You misreported it.  I pointed that out.

"The pandemic is having devastating impact. The huge pay gap between those at the  top and everybody else are not healthy. Huge payouts to already very wealthy bankers will make many people uncomfortable. It might also be complacent to increase banker's bonuses..."

taken verbatim from the above article.

As I said, all I want is a fairer more equitable world.
