Seems like Starmer has also been drinking with colleagues during lockdown.

Irrelevant.

Starmer is not in charge of the country, and not involved in deciding the laws of the land.

This is all on the Conservative's watch

No 10 seem to have apologised to Buckingham Palace, but wouldn't say why.

Sue Gray is investigating 17 parties during lockdown. Allegations of 'suitcases on wheels of booze' being wheeled up Downing Street during lockdown also to be investigated by Sue Gray.

Does anyone else have anything they'd like Sue Gray to investigate? I'd like to know where my hair has gone, and where Boris Johnson's moral compass has gone. That'll do for starters.

There's been no allegations of drunkenness  in the Downing Street garden meaning there is no issue about common sense when consuming alcohol.

Regarding the lady mp, Boris stated today that the Downing Street garden has been used for work purposes during the pandemic.  It's not a surprise that someone who works in Downing Street doesn't know whether they went into the garden on a particular day twenty months ago.

Yes there have.

The Telegraph today report that Downing Street staff boozed "excessively" at two leaving parties the night before Prince Philip's funeral on April 17, 2021. Meanwhile, the monarch had to grieve alone after she lost her husband of 73 years, at the funeral which was only attended by 30 people keeping in mind the coronavirus restrictions.

As per the report, government advisers and civil servants drank large amounts of alcohol and danced in No.10's basement and gardens after work on Friday, April 16. As per eyewitnesses, around 30 people attended the two gatherings before combining in the garden, allegedly because of a fear that too much wine was spilling on the basement carpet.

The Downing Street party was also in violation of Covid restrictions that were in place in England at the time. The rules stated, "You must not socialise indoors except with your household or support bubble. You can meet outdoors, including in gardens, in groups of six people or two households."

David Yelland (former editor of the Sun, and Laura Kuennsberg, (political editor of the BBC) both tweeted that they seemed to know that there were parties at No10 during lockdown, and that other journalists knew as much as well. Why they didn't report on these att he time I do not know.

There is a Tory press - Telegraph, Mail, Express, Times and Sun have not changes political allegiances, they just know that Johnson is wounded and weakened. No doubt they'll be sloganeering for the next leader whoever they think it is, or should be.

It is said that Johnson hasn't been popular with his MPs partly because he doesn't work the tea rooms in the way that Theresa May did, but also because he prefers to work with outsiders and SPADs.

The Sun were having similar office parties during lockdown

It's becoming a little clearer with regards to the media and their lack of reporting of all these parties in lockdown

James Slack: the Sun deputy editor in latest No 10 party scandal | The Sun | The Guardian

So James Slack, who was Johnson's Director of Communications in No 10 is now Deputy Editor of the Sun. That explains that.

Only old washer women are interested in this nonsense.  Any alleged wrongdoing should have been called out at the time of the alleged wrongdoing.

Yep. That's how lawbreaking and subsequent justice works. Unless it is called out at the time then no action can be taken. At least, that's how the Metropolitan Police see it.

I'm guessing that you wouldn't use the old washer women phrase to the face of someone who was denied the opportunity to a send-off to a loved one, whilst Team Tory were living it up as and when they chose, or would you?

Judging by how many people have and are ringing into LBC with heartbreaking stories of personal sacrifice and doing the right thing, I'd say that it's only old washer women like you who are interested in licking Johnson's boots for him, and excusing his misdeeds and lack of living up to the rules he set for everyone else.

There were two family funerals for our family in 2020. Both had restrictions.  None of my family are ringing up the BBC / ITV / SKY to tell them how disgusted we are with Boris and the Tories.

The whole saga has become boring now.

I'm sure everyone is very sorry that you're bored by it now.

Tell Johnson and his cronies to observe the rules that he set for everyone to abide by, then there would be no lurid news stories to bore you with.

Not allegations at all but just the usual media gossip from made up so called eye witnesses that can't be verified or named and swallowed whole by the gullible who want it to be true.

Yes it's taken a long time for these bits of media gossip to come to the media's attention....

I bet LBC's owners are rubbing their hand in glee knowing that its popularity is bringing in money for them. As said before LBC is just a media show that latches on to the situation to become popular and make money. Just another extension of the gutter press but a bit more modern thats all.
