Worse still, the media (BBC are the worse for this) will allow something wrong - a lie, not a different opinion to stand as a fact, or at best an opinion.  I'm wrong about loads of stuff. tinfoilhat   11 #1491 Posted May 15, 2021 Just now, West 77 said: Before the EU referendum Brexit was never a Tory policy. There was both cross party support for and against leaving the EU. Brexit became a problem implementing due to both interference from the Supreme Court and MPs from all parties not respecting the choice the electorate made which was to leave the EU. We had a General Election in 2017 that was intended to decide which political party was to implement Brexit. Unfortunately no single party won a majority which meant Brexit was blocked until after the 2019 December General Election in which the Tories won an eighty seat majority. The Tory Party never made a total sow's purse of the whole deal that was done by Parliament for not supporting the choice the UK people made in the EU referendum up until the 2019 General Election. See? Wrong.
 Share this content via...

His other skills leave a lot to be desired and his character is more than a little dubious to say the least. IMO he is a disaster. What's interesting is that the British like a posh boy, and automatically look up to them. Same with the Royal Family and Aristocracy. I don't know if it's just the British character or if it's the influence of the media. Judging a person by their appearance/front, especially when it comes to politics, seems to me to be the height of lunacy.  Never judge a book by it's cover... As it happens I looked Boris Johnson up on Wikipedia this week, apparently he was born on the upper East side of New York, to an English father and I think, a Polish Mother.
 Share this content via...

That is similar to those who love Corbyn when he was leader of the Labor party.  1 hour ago, whiteowl said: It's almost like a cult - you can see it on here, it doesn't matter what he does, people will defend him. But as said that also goes for Corbyn as Labour members believe he was targeted by the press and never did anything wrong. Mister M   1,625 #1496 Posted May 19, 2021 (edited) After the palaver of Johnson's tacky £840 a roll gold wallpaper and who paid for it, it seems that the said wallpaper has not been put up properly, so specialist decorators have been brought in: Experts are called back in to fix Boris Johnson's costly Downing Street decor | Daily Mail Online  Seems like 'spaffing up the wall' didn't do the job Boris 🤢 Expect the begging bowl to go round at your local Conservative branch meeting  Edited May 19, 2021 by Mister M
 Share this content via...
RollingJ   2,040 #1497 Posted May 19, 2021 (edited) Don't think much of your choice of reading material, @Mister M🤣  A lot of supposition in that 'report' - 'it is reported to be' 'it is thought to be' - with no concrete evidence or sources. The point is the Daily Mail is very influential no matter what it says, I believe it has the highest readership of any paper, and seems to appeal across a broad and varied demographic. That doesn't make what it says true, but nevertheless what it says is controlling minds across the board, and is therefore significant. As I said in my reply to MisterM - that 'article' - can't really call it a report, on reflection, was a load of hyperbole, supposition and 'whatifism' - i.e. totally worthless unless you had the brains of a gnat.
