Ahh, now let's look what happened first. An Old Etonian and very educated man called Cameron who was also PM and part of that Tory elite was the very one to start the whole Brexit ball rolling. He, despite his education and position ignored advice not to and decided on a referendum regardless. We now know the result of his folly, he resigned from his job and Brexit happened

Led by an Old Etonian.

So we were led by Old Etonians not "outclassed by the uneducated underclass" - seeing as the "uneducated underclass" played no part in the leadership of any campaign.

As you and I both know, the only role for the “undereducated underclass” in this game is as pawns.

The profit is at a greater altitude.

And still some of them are prepared to tug their forelocks.

But, but, but - get brexit done!

Non-white people, immigrants, muslims were the main dog whistles. Technically nothing to do with the EU but, hey, one bogeyman is as good as another isn't it?

Years ago I used to wonder how the Nazis got into power as, generally, the German people are quite similar to us so how did they let it happen?

Now I get it, not saying that we're going to turn into some sort of right-wing dictatorship but I now understand how it happened.

Right-wing media (DM, Express, etc), then later Farage & his network, have been conditioning the UK electorate for years and years, in exactly the same way German national socialists did throughout the 1930s.

Why do you think the Tories eventually folded and turned full-fat UKIP since 2015? Exactly: if you can't beat them, join them. And then take them over.

So the current Tory government is a triumph of demagoguery acting against the best interests of British people, with total impunity and unaccountability.

Dido Harding's appointment to the 'new' PHE with a £10bn blank cheque, given her track record (and her husband's anti-NHS interests) and, in today's news, yet another £300m's of taxpayers' hard-earned straight into the pockets of Gove & Cummings' mates for contracts awarded to non-entities under emergency measures without any tendering process howsoever, are just more symptoms. Likewise the Trumpification of the UK government and civil service, scapegoating out longstanding experts and replacing them with politically-aligned mates.

Seems the prorogation of Parliament on the basis of lies and misrepresentations might have skipped people's memories already, and that few have realised that the government insta-dismantled the PHE and replaced it without any consultation with Parliament howsoever. If I say 'Henry VIII powers', will that jog some readers' memories, and help them make a connection with the increasingly autocratic behaviour of Johnson and his Cabinet?

You are already under a right wing dictatorship. But that one is purely profit-oriented, not expansionist.

Good to see that the Government have the exam results under total control. So much so that it appears that Gav is taking the day off whilst the GCSEs and BTec, sorry not those ones, are announced.

The exam fiasco is a shameful failure of government and illustrates perfectly their lack of interest in the bulk of the electorate. They should be ashamed of this, but they’ll probably just disband OFQUAL and give the job to one of Dom’s mates.

Painfully close to the mark.

The dismantling of PHE has nothing at all to do with parliament or the use of Henry VIII powers as it is an executive agency of the government so they can legitimately dismantle it and set up a new body incorporating it into that one, so it's a bit of a strawman.

Trending hash tag which highlights the fact that none of the givernment who we pay 24/7/265 is willing to stand up and be counted alongside the fiasco that is the education secretary.

Boris is also being deserted by those memners of the cabinet who finally accept that Brexit is going to be a carcrash in which the UK is in a clapped out Austin Allegro and the rest of the world is in a Hummer.

Welcome the the 3rd world consequences of Brexit.

Happy now leavers?
