The Conservative Party - Part Two.

Recommended Posts

wow, the VILE tory party really are the nasty party...

Allegations have arisen on Twitter that senior Tories tried to persuade the alleged victim to drop her case against a Conservative MP, with promises of good jobs if she signs a non-disclosure agreement/accepts a small settlement.

I’m not an habitual defender of Rees-Mogg, or any other Tory, but that has to be the sloppiest piece of “journalism” possible.

It boils down to “someone might have said something on Twitter, but I can’t be arsed to  verify the claim”.

Gutter journalism like that does nobody any favours.

Betteridges Law tells you all you need to know about this link Banjo posted.

Is it true that senior Tories tried to bully alleged rape victim into dropping her case?

So we have purchased 50 million masks for the NHS at a cost of over £150 million which are now deemed unsuitable for their use .

Yet the government claim to have robust purchasing systems in place .

How can this be true when it would appear that we have paid for them all.

What was the specification.

Were samples tested.

Was the bulk shipment sampled on arrival and before payment was made.

If it is just the method of securing them can they be altered rather than a total write off,or are there other quality problems.

I have little faith in the common sense of our leaders.

On another front,Cummings is under the spotlight again as the accusations that he made a second trip to Durham rear their ugly head again.

We were told that he could prove otherwise, but this is yet to be produced.

Or you can just read the news about it instead of guessing.

https://news.sky.com/story/coronavirus-50-million-face-masks-bought-by-the-uk-government-ditched-over-safety-concerns-12043590

The masks have ear loops, not head loops. The supplier says they meet all the requirements, which is why they have been paid for instead of payment being refused. Presumably they didn't specify a requirement of head loops.

It wouldn't be the first time or the last time the Government has paid for something that doesn't meet their requirements because they failed to have full requirements specified in the first place. That's the joy of the public sector.

Plus as far as I know, face masks with ear loops have been widely used in combating Covid-19 in the NHS, as back in March and April there were lots of reports of nursing staff complaining about sore ears.

I have read and in addition to the fastenings a  government spokesman cited “possible” other concerns.

I read lots of news and then read between the lines.

It is pretty basic stuff to agree a specification,to test samples,to sample the shipment and then to pay.

To then say that we had robust procedures in place is laughable.

Ayanda Capital, a company that does "currency trading, offshore property, private equity and trade financing", owned through an offshore holding firm based in the tax haven of Mauritius, have no experience in the healthcare sector.

The contract was awarded via Andrew Mills - an adviser to the government's Board of Trade chaired by International Trade Secretary Liz Truss :?

Proof that they are not fit to run a Bingo stall, let alone, be in charge of purchasing  Health resources.

Boris also out-trumped stupid Trump by repeating that we DO have a "world beating track & trace system"

When are we going to elect someone with a working brain?

Choosing ex posh school boys and Uni educated leaders certainly isn't working.

It's also basic stuff to give a proper set of requirements in the first place. If the requirement didn't specifically ask for head loops, then the government can't refuse paying for the goods can it. Fault lies with whomever made the spec and ordered the goods and I seriously doubt it was a minister, more likely to be very senior management in the health service.

It's fine, it's only tax payers money. There will be no reprimands, firings, just the usual weak public sector promise of mistakes being learnt, changes to procedures etc. Seen it all before.
