Coronavirus - Part Two.

I think you'll find that cortisone injections are different from most injections - therefore special training is needed.  Also, the areas they are given into require a more in-depth knowledge of that area of the body to get the injections in the right place - hence specialisms.  With a practice with a number of Doctors, there is a greater chance to specialise.  In small practices, you may well have needed to go a hospital to get the cortisone.

With the Covid vaccine, less specialist knowledge is needed, and dentists routinely inject patients, and have also had general medical training, so would be able to do Covid injections.  Also, they'll have needed to do many of the "safeguarding" and other trainings needed to work directly with the public, that volunteers will not have done.

OK, take you point, @Thirsty Relic. However, as dentists were not allowed to practice under LD1 (+LD2??), they will have a build-up of work in their own field?

Did they make you sit down for 15 mins or was it jab and go?

Yes, we had to sit down for about 15 minutes. Didn't get a cup of tea and a biscuit, though....

Riffraff.

I'm registered with Heeley Green Surgery. You are quite right the Belgrave Med Centre. Might I suggest you phone Heeley Surgery and ask them about when she might receive her vaccination.

When I phoned-about 10 days ago-they informed me that they were working through the upper age group and would get round the 70+

about the 11th Jan. So it's worth a inquiry.

Yes. "Sit in that room over there. You can leave at the time written on the piece of paper I've just given you".

Unfortunately, no tea and biscuits.

I see that Laurence Fox is causing more controversy....At this rate he's going to overtake Katie Hopkins in the uber troll race:

"After a long period of consultation with myself, an extended review period and proper due diligence conducted with myself, I’ve received the badge that I ordered from Amazon. Thank you for being there for me."

Understandably, people are fuming, including Tory MP Simon Hoare:

"I hadn’t realised that being a first class, ocean going, chateau bottled, nuclear powered prick was an exemption from wearing a mask. What a selfish loathsome tool this man is."

The question though is.. is this down to a new variant or because people have become lax when it come to lockdown or social distancing?

Other alternatives are available;

For example workplace infections are soaring.

Likely that the current wave is due to more than one factor.

So we are top of the league for Covid deaths, the mighty Blades are bottom of the Premier League, and all the pubs are shut.  That can only mean one thing - this is a nightmare and I'll wake up soon!

I thought that Morrison’s were supposedly leading the way in enforcing precautions against Covid transmission.

Its not apparent at The Barracks this afternoon.

No security as you enter,no one way systems.

It wasn’t particularly busy but saw 2 men and a woman not wearing masks in the shopping area and more than a few taking masks off as they had gone through the checkout but still in the shop.

One security guy outside the shop serving what purpose I do not know.

Difficult I know for shops to cater for the more awkward customers, but if you are not going to do it then don’t issue press releases.
