I wonder who'll they'll turn too if they catch something?

Well they won't curl up quietly in a corner and die, they'll burden the health service and wander into A and E with out a mask.

Can imagine this lot in 1940 - "If I want to leave my lights on and my curtains open I will do".

Arseholes.

Brilliant TFH.

Sums everything up in one sentence.

What exactly is wrong with Piers Corbyn?    Why would it be a hoax to destroy jobs and the economy?

I may not be his brother's biggest fan, but this guy is something else.

Couple of bits of potentially good news.

BBC News - Coronavirus: Protein treatment trial 'a breakthrough'

BBC News - Coronavirus vaccine: UK government signs deals for 90 million doses
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-53469269

Let's hope it all works.

Tinfoilha t,

Thanks for that uplifting news. The results do look promising.

I'd just like to add something.

If it was me participating in the trail, I wouldn't be very happy if I found I'd been given  a placebo. A historical note.In the early days of the HIV pandemic. The organisation Act Up campaigned against placebos being used in the search to find a treatment for HIV.

I think their slogan was" drugs into bodies".

Placebos are an important part of clinical trials though.  Why would you be unhappy?

Not so long ago, walked past a very small group of COVID-19 deniers, setting up a banner & with a few placards, just outside the Peace Gardens.

Apparently, COVID-19 doesn't exist, (mention that to someone at the Northern General, should you come down with respiratory problems in the next month or so), and it's the start of an experiment thought up by governments & scientists as a way to control us all.

An update from The Star.  Must have been those I saw at the Peace Gardens earlier in the day on Saturday?

They appear to have lost a few from the number I saw.

That's ridiculous. The placebo is needed to provide a comparison between people with the drug and ones without during a clinical trial.

Exactly.  In some trials the placebo is administered with existing treatments.

Perhaps it's time to bring back the slogan "coughs and sneezes spread diseases".

Or maybe "Are you only wearing your mask over your mouth? You are a moron. Don't be a moron and wear you mask properly".

It's not hard is it.
