Even shops? No restrictions on the numbers I’ve been in (which isn’t many to be fair) so there are many inevitable pinch points.

Well you should be choosing better shops to be honest.

Every single one I've been in from small convenience store to large department store has had multiple measures in place including restricting numbers one-way systems and hand sanitizer stations.

Some stores are still closed now or delayed their opening, despite the fact that they would have been able to open for a couple of weeks, so they can spend time and money getting ready for social distancing.  John Lewis in Sheffield is a prime example of that.  WHSmith in meadowhalland several of the restaurant chains also delayed their opening still they can get prepared.

I can’t afford better shops.

B and M for example had nobody counting anyone or out, the staff didn’t have masks on, no hand sanatiser no cleaning of the trolley available. Lots of people.

If we going down the “who cares” method, open up the rest so I can go to better shops.

EDIT. These things did exist at Aldi but they’ve gone. Ditto Tesco as far as I know.

I wish that Dominic Cummings would issue his instructions to the P.M.and other government spokespersons on the subject of face masks.

Each one gives a slightly different story and the end result is as clear as mud to anyone who totally relies on their word.

Personally I don’t and for the time being I will continue as I have done .

I have masks which I will wear if I am caught in a  crowded place.

Its relatively easy for me as the only situation where I might encounter any number of people is at the supermarket.

For those at work ,using public transport or socialising in pubs etc some consistent advice or rules are needed.

So Dominic ,take a day off from working towards a No Deal Brexit (what a mess)and tell your minions what to say.

Although I do like that not one but two posters on here think the current **** show in shops etc is my fault and not the shops fault.

That’s interesting isn’t it.

Sorry to say not every Tesco Spital Hill Branch on Saturday, you had to fetch a trolley yourself from bay, when you got in (no checks on how many customers were going in) you could clean trolley yourself and they have now removed the one way system in store so you are now meeting people head on going  just where they want, I must say I didn't feel comfortable being close to other shoppers.,

That’s your fault for going to Tesco. You should go to Waitrose darling.

I’ve just been to Sainsbury’s.

They've given up counting in and out now. No queues, no restrictions. You can sanitise your own trolley if you like, but that’s it.

Apart from the chaos at the checkouts because they aren’t clear about how they want you to queue.

Fortnum’s for me next week😀

I didn't say more expensive shops I said better. That is not the same thing.

By way of example at least two Morrisons branches I have been to are still controlling numbers into the store, have a dedicated queuing system, have sanitizer stations and have one-way entry/exits.

I was down the moor as recently as Sunday and went into several shops including h&m, foultons and Poundland that all had marked out floors, sanitizers and staff members directing people to specific till points when they were empty and safe to use.

If you are unhappy that your particular shops don't have such systems or are simply ignoring to practice there safe systems then, as I suggest, you should find somewhere better.

How are supposed to socially distance from personal shopper/footman though? You must keep a tight reign on them.

On a side note, if anyone is in need of a (paid) personal shopper, please PM.

Not Morrison’s chesterfield. Haven’t been to halfway but I can guess, they’ll have those arrows taken up quick and lively.
