Accuracy, The Daily Mail And Barnsley

Recommended Posts

Reporting today that Barnsley, like Leicester, Bradford, Oldham and Rochdale, has a large south Asian population.

Full marks for inaccuracy.

Or perhaps it's a paper with a racist agenda, staffed by racist sloppy journalists.

Sorry, actually expecting that the Daily Mail would print news based on truth is where your problem starts.

The kneejerk reaction of a lot of racists on social media was to blame asians.  There were plenty of people ignoring the inconvenient truth that Barnsley has a very low number of asians before the Daily Fail picked up on that line.

Before playing favourite race card, it'd be helpful if the OP provided some context of the article. Or better - linked the original article.

This one?

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-8490305/amp/I-tell-exactly-Leicester-lockdown.html

“Above all, other towns and cities at risk of fresh outbreaks – places such as Barnsley, Rochdale and Bradford – all of which have large populations of South Asian heritage, should learn from the mistakes made in Leicester and ensure that more lives are not needlessly lost.“
