Wouldnt have thought thats possible as both sides have a right to appeal,so the likely scenario is any punishment will be administered next season, youd class july as close season,if no extrodinary measures have been ratified by the EFL clubs, then thats still the case and last season, late as it was,is now closed as the play offs are now being played,so all league positions have been signed off by the EFL.  Edited July 30, 2020 by staninoodle
 Share this content via...
Cyclecar   24 #65 Posted July 30, 2020 I would think that, technically, the Championship season officially ends with the play off final. The FA decision may be challenged, nevertheless everyone does need a decision.   The footie authorities have not covered themselves in glory recently. The Newcastle saga has been shuffled from desk to desk for about twelve weeks, as it is quasi-political. The Wigan debacle saw the club change hands with no oversight as to fit and proper, etc. Dear old Bury are no longer with us owing - in part - to indifference. The only ones who benefit are the learned friends who can invoice all and sundry.  I may reflect a view held by many in this City in that we need two strong, well run teams playing at the highest level. I do remember when we had them both in the top flight, which meant a big game in town every week, it has a very positive effect all round.
 Share this content via...

The EFL should of made an announcement early on saying if it hadn't been resolved by a certain date then any punishment will be for next season, everyone would of known what was going on and if the likes of Barnsley would just have to accept it
 Share this content via...
royalowl   14 #67 Posted July 30, 2020 The FA have nothing to do with any of it. It is an Independent Panel, who have been appointed by the EFL.  The panel has 3 people on it, 1 appointed by the EFL, 1 appointed by Wednesday, and 1 independent person. Vaati   11 #71 Posted July 31, 2020 https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/53612257  Sheffield Wednesday have been deducted 12 points by an independent disciplinary panel for the 2020-21 season for breaking spending rules. They breached rules by including the sale of their Hillsborough Stadium home in their 2017-18 accounts despite the ground being sold a year later. However, they were found not guilty of "breaching its duty of utmost good faith to the EFL by deliberately concealing information".
 Share this content via...
