Fishing For Kids.

Recommended Posts

Morning, just joined the forum to try and get a bot of advice. I have a 6 year old son who is obsessed with fishing. The last few summers he has been able to go sea fishing for Mackerel & Pollack and has caught the bug. This year it doesn't look like he will be able to do so & is asking me non-stop if we can go near home. We have spinning gear, I know we would need to buy a few other bits & a rod licence, but would anyone be able to recommend anywhere good to take him for a first go at coarse fishing? Preferable near Totley and doesn't really need to be a stocked/managed place, just somewhere with a chance of catching something for novices.

Thanks.

Hello Tom You could try fishing in Millhouses Park, I have never fished there but have seen people fishing in the pond.

Get up to Aston park fisheries, speak to Alex, book him a lesson or two to get him on the right tack.

PS if he really gets the bug he will eat all your spare cash.

Aston Park have a small pond/lake purely for children/novices with small fish and plenty of bites to keep him occupied, as Mr Hinks says have a word with Alex he will give you all the advice you need and has a well kitted out tackle shop on site.
