I don’t know if any emergency treatment is available anywhere at the moment and I hope that someone can help.

All that I can advise is that when I had a nagging toothache and away from home, the most effective relief was using Disprin Direct, which you can dissolve in the mouth next to the tooth.

Boots sell it.

Coincidentally, this is on today’s BBC page and probably reflects the situation in Sheffield area

I had an appointment for a checkup about 1 week ago, my dentist phoned me and rearranged for a later date, they said at present they are only seeing emergency cases, so it looks like some dentists are still working.

Been there.

Orajel, the extra strength one. Red or orange box, or was last time I bought it.

Instant relief, mate. Truly. Finger end, on tooth, on gums next to.

Get 2 tubes just in case.

I went down the Oil of Cloves route first - that's not bad - but Orajel takes the gold medal.

Good luck.

Yes I did read the op:

" does anyone know if any emergency dentists are still operating? "

and the answer is: Yes, some are still operating.

There's a couple open for emergency cases, I think one is open in Leeds.

Dental pain can be excruciating and infection can lead to more serious conditions, surely emergency treatment is available?

It ought to be. I’ve noticed the opticians will see people with emergency eye problems. Which is great but surely it’s just as important to have access to emergency dental care? A ruptured tooth abscess is potentially fatal.
