Annie Bynnol   612 #2 Posted April 7, 2020 Hallamshire put me on colchicine 18 months ago and its done a great job with no side effects at all. Except when the senior GP at the practice refused to renew the prescription just before I saw the specialist at the Hallamshire again. The specialist put me straight back on after the symptoms came back with a vengeance. Although colchicine is an ancient medicine, in certain dosages it has a lot of side effects and clashes with other drugs eg statins. Some of these side effects are serious - phone the RHS rheumatology clinic.  There is a "squits" bug doing the rounds at the moment.  Share this post Link to post Share on other sites Share this content via...

The squits stopped as soon as the coarse of tables finished so it's possible that she had the side affects, but not ruling out the bug.  Thank You for replying and I hope you are over your illness.
