---------

From 21st June there will be increases to Sunday services on many routes.

From 30th June TM Travel will hopefully be increasing service 30 (Hallamshire Hospital-City-Beighton-Crystal Peaks) to run every 30 minutes. This has been postponed from the initial planned 15th June introduction due to road works on Furnival Gate not being complete in time to allow this to happen.

Changes to buses in the City Centre due to the closure of Leopold Street/Pinstone Street:

Buses 1, 11, 11a, 75, 76, 76a, 81, 82, 83, 83a, 86, 88, 97, 98: will no longer serve High Street/Leopold Street/Pinstone Street and stop on Arundel Gate instead.

stop AG12 (near Castle Square) - routes 5, 43, 44, X17

stop AG9 (outside convenience store) - routes 10a, 20, 24, 25

stop AG13 (outside Hallam University) - routes 80, X1, X10

stop AG123 (outside O2 Academy) - routes 1, 11, 11a

stop AG124 (outside Odeon Cinema) - routes 75, 76, 76a, 86, 97, 98

stop AG10 (top of Howard Street) - routes 5, 10a, 20, 24, 25, 43, 44, X17

stop CS1 (opposite Roebuck Tavern) - routes 5, 10a, 20, 24, 25, 43, 44, 80, X1, X10

stop CS123 (by roundabout) - routes 1, 11, 11a, 75, 76, 76a, 86, 97, 98

Buses 6, 30, 30a, 51, 52, 52a, 95, 95a, 120,  271, 273, 274, 275, X5: will no longer serve Leopold Street/Pinstone Street and stop on Carver Street instead. There are 5 bus stands on Carver Street (buses set down on the West Street end and pick up on the Wellington Street end):

stop CA1 - set down only

stop CA2 - set down only

stop CA3 - pick up routes 30, 30a, 52, 52a, X5

stop CA4 - pick up routes 120

stop CA5 - pick up routes 6, 51, 95, 95a, 273, 274, 275

Both sets of routes rejoin their normal route at Eyre Street roundabout (except for the 51 which is as normal from Cumberland Street). Note that for the next week or so there are likely to be delays on buses running via Carver Street as the council are behind with the roadworks to open up Furnival Gate to buses, meaning a circuitous detour via Moorfoot is necessary.

Buses that run High Street > Church Street > West Street continue on normal route but some bus stops on High Street/Church Street have been changed.

It seems it is a condition of government funding for bus services that a pre-covid timetable is run on those services claiming funding.

There is however no obligation to run every service so there will still be some routes without buses and it could well stay that way.

Sad to note that to date, TM have no social distancing guidelines on their buses. Passengers sitting in huddles is all to common.

No idea what i did there but never mind.  I see the First No.36 is still suspended leaving residents - mainly elderly - of Wincobank without access to Firth Park or Meadowhall without having to walk a considerable distance uphill on the way back.  Initially it said 'this service will not resume' and now it's 'this service is suspended'.  Already emailed First and got a cut and paste reply from Leeds.  It's hard to believe anyone running First has ever actually driven a bus around Sheffield.  I'm 5 minutes away from my parents by car yet it would take them 90 minutes and 3 buses to get to me under their own steam.  And now even longer if the 36 doesn't resume.  It was already a joke because drivers took it on themselves to decide whether they could be bothered to do the Standon Road loop.

* No spoiler, I hit the icon in error (standing up to type - bad idea) and couldn't delete.

Unfortunately the current coverage is a reduced temporary network with an emergency covid-19 timetable funded by government based on demand for essential travel, agreed with SYPTE and the City Region Mayor.

I'm guessing the view has been taken the 95/95a is enough to cater for the majority of key workers and other essential travel in the Wincobank area given the limited taxpayer funds available to support buses in the area and the 36 will be reviewed when social distancing requirements are removed. Perhaps the local community should follow the lead of Stocksbridge residents who got together and lobbied their MP and councillor to get the current routes adapted to fill gaps left unserved.

Not so much a change to the timetable but to concessionary fares.

According to First's website  travel time restrictions have been removed to allow all Senior Pass (ENCTS) holders to travel as and when they require, in line with the latest Government advice. This morning the machine refused my pass at 9.05 am so be aware that the ticket machines are not in line with their policy so you may need to persuade the driver.

The 0930 restriction was re-introduced by SYPTE a few weeks ago, the bus companies have no say in this. Clearly the website hasn't been updated however there are ** at the end of the statement connected to a caveat that this is subject to change.
