So tonight is officially the final night to applaud NHS workers.

From seeing some reports on tv today, even most of the doctors & nurses think it's time to end it.

Interviewed this morning, tv doctor, Mark Porter, while appearing greatful for the original sentiment, now clearly finds it somewhat embarrassing that it has carried on this long, especially as he recognised that there are other sectors of the workforce out there, as he put it, "Doing their bit."

What is "official" about it?

The woman who started it even says the clapping has "Had its moment" &  10 weeks would be a good time to end it.  Even those in the medical profession believe it is time to move on.

It "had its moment" after the first one was completed.

It was a well thought gesture which lost all meaning as soon as it became a weekly ritual which continually degenerated into attention seeking, one-upmanship, social media grandstanding and celebrity endorsements.

I'm glad interest has been lost and hope that people follow the lead of its creator and bring it to an end.
