steve68 66 #1 Posted March 17, 2020 The Walled Garden will be opened this weekend for the Mother's Day weekend between 10am until 2pm for a Plant sale and for those that would just like to enjoy the open space and nature areas of Hillsborough Park. its an opportunity to both support the Garden and to enjoy the outdoor, open space and relax in the peacefulness of our local little gem of a garden, commonly known as the Secret Garden, during this time of limited activity. I think the nice thing is plants and wildlife are great for lifting people's spirits, I'm lucky enough that if in the future and to have to do the self isolating thing, that I have my own Garden to potter around and have a few flowering pot plants indoors that lift a little of the gloom. Sorry I've only just seen your post, I've been busy and not online, yes it did go ahead, the garden isn't that well known to people so it wasn't crowed, it never is, it's only busy, on the Major open days such as last years all lit up . The big open day in May has been put on hold. Those that came to this small weekend opening adhered to the social distancing and made use of the honesty box, if you know the area it a big space and SCC have no plans as yet to close that area of the park, although this may change. I saw sense and didn't even think of going in the end. Things are changing so fast, decisions have to be made daily. My decision was to stay home.
