With Boris Johnson's announcement on Monday night that hasn't ordered pubs, bars, restaurants etc to close but as advised customers to avoid enjoying social interaction in such places, a number of venues are adapting their business by offering takeaway and/or home delivery for both food and beer.

Bradfield Brewery - bottles and minikegs available for delivery or from brewery shop

Forgive my ignorance, but what's a growler in the context of beers?

A refillable glass or stainless Steel bottle with an airtight sealable lid.

Head of steam have installed a crowler machine, so they can put any of their draught beers in a can to take away

Going back to the olden days where you use to tap at the little side window of the pub (the off sales ) and hand them your enamel  jug to fill full of beer.

I use to get sent as a kid and they always served me even though they knew I was under age.

This is a great idea for pubs, at least it will keep their heads above water. I wonder if the small restaurants will do the same thing with takeaway meals.
