And no more humiliation for the Owls, at least for a month.

We were trendsetters as we stopped playing weeks ago!

Personally & I know a lot won't agree but  I think the football authorities should cancel the 20/21 season  and then when games resume (hopefully before xmas) play out this season, leagues, cups, champions league etc, cancel the euros and play them in the new year, around March/April This way clubs have to stick with the squad they have, till end of season whatever,  no new signing till summer of 21.then resume August for  21/22 season

Well if the speculation in the news is to be believed & the Govt is going to ban gatherings of more than 1,000, (possibly as low as 500), then that's football finished for the foreseeable future.

Will the players continue to get paid, some Prem players earn vast wages.

I think the big clubs will still be able to manage in someway but smaller clubs/ lower leagues will struggle.

Overall they all need gate receipts as this is the main revenue- so will be interesting to see what happens.

Yes, but the most important point in there is that this current season will be finished come what may, and it will be extended indefinitely to make sure that happens.  In other words, no voiding of the season, and next season is not allowed to start until this one ends.

Common sense prevails.  Good news for some Yorkshire clubs like the Blades, Rotherham and Leeds who might have worried their efforts this season would count for nothing; less good news for the likes of Wednesday and Barnsley who would have been hoping for a null and void outcome to reset things.

But until we finish this season, SWFC can't be handed their points deduction. 😊

It's not really common sense ..... why potentially disrupt 2 seasons when all they have to do is make the current standings the final standings and tell all those who complain to get a grip, the conclusion of fixtures really should not be a priority at the moment, particularly when realistically it could be months before any consideration to restart happens. Look at the kids who have had exams cancelled, they are going to be judged on performance by teachers not wait until they can eventually take their exams, the football authorities need to step and be more decisive, other things are more important IMHO !

Let's assume that the PL does resume on 30/04/20, that means, depending on the team, they have either 10 or 9 games left.

Saturday, midweek, Saturday, (or whatever days the tv companies decree), the league season could be completed in around 3 weeks.

All the Premiership teams in the same boat, no moaning about an excessive fixture programme.
