Decking Or Paving?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I don’t know if I am posting this in the right section but I am just needing a general idea of cost. I have a space in my garden measuring 10ft w x 14ft l, I am wanting to make it look nicer and I am wondering which would be cheapest option would be decking or paving?

Paving and decking after a time look discoloured,  sometimes weeds grow through the paving,  decking if varnished looks cracked  eventually - I have decking and ended up covering it with astro-turf and it looks great.

According to some gardening programme the other day - composite decking( i have this and its excellent) £45 sq metre, softwood decking(had it and never again) £15 sq metre plus labour, i had granite paving laid in 2018 and it came in at about 50sq metre.

You do know astro turf has to be disinfected twice a year especialy if you have pets . What with the new virous going round make sure you have it looked after  if kids play on it

Willman, can I ask where you got your composite decking from? My raised deck has had it's day and needs replacing.
