Paid For A Repair With Paypal

Recommended Posts

At the beginning of January I sent a fountain pen for repair and service (new barrel, and renewal of the cap.

Was given a quote which I accepted and paid with PayPal.I received the pen  a while later but it was obvious the pen was leaking ink.

I sent it back correct the leak.

Got it back and the leak was worse than before.

I inspected the barrel with a magnifying glass to read some faint writing and discovered the "new" barrel  had a faint crack in it.

I informed the repairer about the crack and the  leak with a request he complete the repairs and  I  returned  the pen.

Just got the pen back, exactly as I sent it, leaking and barrel cracked.

I believe he hasn't any intention of repairing it.

Can I get the money back through Paypal?

Suggestions please.

Without doubt, do this.

Paypal disputes should sort it and get you a full refund. I don't think I'd be letting the same company put things right if offered.

Don't leave negative comments until they've sorted it.  Otherwise, that's one less bargaining chip you have.

Paypal are great at resolutions. You ought to name and shame the person/company on Social Media and get them closed down.

So long as you didn't pay with the "friends and family" option.  Some sellers prefer this because it puts the onus of fees on the buyer.
