CathS Â Â 10 #1 Posted March 10, 2020 Can anyone help with some advice about a wall. My sons bedroom is next to our spare room. It's a partition wall between them. One side has developed a big bulge and you can see its cracked as if the plaster has just popped out. Is this something that can happen with old houses? We do have a bedroom above (loft conversion) and was worried it was structural but the ceiling is fine, it's just the middle of the wall and if you press it you can hear the plasterboard moving. carosio   186 #2 Posted March 10, 2020 Presume it's a solid brick wall and not a stoothing partition? Old houses usually are brick partitions, but with plasterboard mentioned probably a hollow wall. Is other side flat and normal looking? CathS Â Â 10 #3 Posted March 10, 2020 I dont think its brick, think its wood. Other side is flat as normal
 Share this content via...
carosio   186 #4 Posted March 10, 2020 I'm no expert and can't comment further, but I have seen plaster board "buckle".
 Share this content via...

carosio   186 #6 Posted March 11, 2020 There's plenty of info on Google under "drywall bulge/buckle".
 Share this content via...
