She has a Twitter here: https://twitter.com/_oliviablake

Also a phone number is listed on her campaign website : 0114 272 4964

As is another e-mail address olivia@oliviablake.org.uk

Also she lists a mobile number on the Sheffield Council website   07817 672 558

I know for a fact not all councillors bother answering their phone or E mails, I'd have thought MPs wouldn't be any different.

One of my councillors, Julie Grocutt, did used to answer the phone and I can remember being impressed by that, but, TBH, it should be taken as read they answer the soddin' phone....

It does seem a little silly that the MP is required to setup an office when elected.

Surely it'd be easier to have an office for the constituency, with the elected MP simply taking their place in it.

You'd get much better continuity that way and stuff that people needed before the election wouldn't be lost in the chaos of an MP change.

The offices that prospective candidates use for the election are usually centrally located and a temporary rental paid for through the Party and the costs  limited by law.

The office that an MP uses in the constituency can be anywhere and may or may not be where they hold private meetings or hold public surgeries or have appointments.

The facilities that the outgoing MP used might have been supported/sponsored/provided by a business, club, union, party etc..

The expenses incurred for renting, utilities etc. are limited and have to be topped up by the constituency or  directly by the MP.

The new MP in a constituency where large distances are involved might choose to locate to a different or multiple locations.

The people of Hallam were silly to vote in a Labour MP again. Such a shame that this once great constituency has lurched to the left to such an extent that it would return a Labour MP after getting burnt so badly when dipping a toe in the water with Jared. If Olivia Blake is another failure then they've nobody to blame but themselves this time.

Don Valley is Tory and Hallam is Labour. I never thought I'd see the day. Champagne socialism at its finest.

Get yer head out of the clouds man.  Hallam was never great.

Any time I have tried to contact an MP, via phone, it's always closed, 'leave a message' (and no one gets back to you) or just doesnt work at all....

pointless.....

Contrary to what Annie has said I think the least effective method of communication with an MP is via letter, although I guess each office and MP works differently.

I would always recommend contacting your MP via https://www.writetothem.com as this process is transparent and helps keep them accountable!

It was and is the only place to live in Sheffield, and South Yorkshire for that matter, but the lurch to the left and the rise of champagne socialists is a shame. People driving BMWs and sending kids to private school and then sticking up a Labour sign at election time as a virtue signal. Extreme wokeism.

Lol - talk about out of date stereotypes - and totally inaccurate ones - from someone who is highly unlikely to have lived in Hallam.

Now let me think - nigh on 20,000 people in Hallam voted Labour - I wonder how many BMW's and private school places there are in the city 😎

Labour voters kids in Hallam go to King Ecgberts, High Storrs and SIlverdale (just like the kids of  Lib Dem and Tory voters).

An MP will receive in the order of 20 000  texts, e-mails, letters, tweets, petitions etc., etc. a month.

It is physically impossible for anybody to deal with this deluge of...

Signed letters with full name an address are the only correspondence that are likely to be read from a new enquiry, usually this will be done by another paid (by the MP) and interns. They will be responsible for bringing important matters to the MP.

An MP will only get one  Parliamentary Assistant/Office Manager paid for by the  Palace of Westminster. This process of getting the right person requires an advert, sifting, interviews, background checks and a full MI5 security check.  These people are critical and a lot of effort is made by MPs to get a suitable organiser. They are not Civil Servants so they don't have a verified employment and qualification record.

A new MP will usually share an office in London and find a organise their Sheffield presence.

It is two months since most  were appointed

Initial  contact should always be done by letter and never by e-mail..

Stop making  excuses  they as should be more prepared

I admire "champagne socialists". You could argue they are the real socialists. It's easy to vote Labour if you're working class and you think they'll take money off the rich and give it to you, rather more principled are people voting Labour and actually paying more tax.

Don’t see how it will speed up the setting up of an office
