Victor Meldrew   33 #7 Posted February 21, 2020 Yes thanks. I'm reminded of a corner shop up Ellesmere Road above Burngreave in the late 70's which seemed to sell absolutely everything. My house-mate at the time (we were in student digs, a long way out) thought it was great that they sold jars of sauerkraut which up until then he'd only ever seen in Germany! Where on Ellesmere Road was that ? As I lived in that area till 1986.
 Share this content via...
Victor Meldrew   33 #9 Posted February 21, 2020 I seem to remember living at no. 219 (or thereabouts) - there was a bus-stop right outside anyway - and the shop was on the corner just above our house.
 Share this content via...

OK you can't get away from the newish houses in the background and the cars that keep driving past in the background but when you come to the customers entering the shop you would think they would have them dressed in the appropriate fashion of the day like the shop keeper and his family and not in jeans and blue hair.
